CompEx Ex05–Ex06 Dust Course

This course is aimed at electrical and instrumentation professionals who:

Work in facilities where combustible dust may be present (e.g. food, grain, wood, plastics, or chemical industries)
Require formal CompEx certification for dust hazardous areas
Need to demonstrate ongoing competence in dust ignition prevention and control

Ideal for technicians and engineers working in industries where explosive dusts pose operational safety risks.

This course combines theoretical training and hands-on practical sessions focused on dust protection concepts and equipment standards, including:

Principles of explosive dust atmospheres and zoning (Zones 20, 21, 22)
Equipment marking, design, and protection techniques for dust environments
Selection, installation, and maintenance of Ex-rated equipment
Inspection, testing, and maintenance documentation
Practical exercises using real dust-protected apparatus and enclosures

Delegates develop the competence to identify, install, and maintain Ex equipment safely in combustible dust atmospheres.

Assessment is through both written and practical evaluations conducted under CompEx-approved conditions:

Written examination covering dust ignition principles and regulatory compliance
Practical assessment on installation and inspection of dust-protected equipment
CompEx certification (Ex05–Ex06) awarded upon successful completion
