CompEx ExF / ExF+ Foundation Course
19th – 20th January 2026

The CompEx ExF / ExF+ course provides essential awareness of hazardous areas, explosive atmospheres and safe working practices. It is ideal for personnel who work near Ex-rated equipment and need a foundation in hazardous area safety.

• Prerequisites: For ExF – No formal electrical qualifications required. ExF+ qualifications consistent with a craftsperson in the areas of Electrical, Instrumentation or Mechanical disciplines, e.g. Min NVQ Level 2.
• Target audience: Personnel needing an introduction to hazardous areas and Ex safety.
• Course Duration: ExF – 1.5 Days, ExF+ 2 Days
• Assessment: Online theory exam (ExF) and practical assessment and online theory exam (ExF+).
• Certification: CompEx Foundation Certificate (ExF) or Foundation Plus Certificate (ExF+).
• Certificate validity: 5 years
• Revalidation: Recommended refresher every 5 years.
• PPE Required: None for classroom elements; PPE for practical (ExF+).
• Items to bring: Government issued photographic ID e.g. Driver Licence or Passport.
